Abstract

Stem cell therapy has emerged as a transformative modality in regenerative medicine, offering the potential to repair, replace, or restore damaged tissues and organs through cellular differentiation and self-renewal. The pluripotent and multipotent nature of stem cells enables therapeutic applications across diverse domains, including cardiovascular, neurological, orthopedic, and autoimmune disorders. This research undertook a comprehensive review and meta-synthesis of peer-reviewed literature, clinical trial data, and translational studies focusing on embryonic, adult, and induced pluripotent stem cells. Methodologically, the study analyzed stem cell classification, immune compatibility, gene editing technologies, and tissue engineering outcomes through comparative modeling and graphical visualization frameworks. The results demonstrate that induced pluripotent stem cells exhibit superior compatibility, lower immunogenicity, and broader differentiation potential than other stem cell types. Clinical trial success rates have increased steadily over the past decade, particularly for therapies involving mesenchymal and iPSC-derived cells. Tumorigenicity and ethical controversies remain significant obstacles, though exosome-based and CRISPR-enhanced therapies offer promising mitigation strategies. Advances in 3D bioprinting and scaffold engineering further enhance tissue integration, while personalized autologous therapies show significant potential in reducing immune rejection. In conclusion, while ethical, regulatory, and biological challenges persist, the synergistic integration of stem cell biology with gene editing, personalized medicine, and bioengineering continues to redefine the clinical landscape. With ongoing innovation and supportive regulatory frameworks, stem cell-based therapies are poised to become central to future therapeutic paradigms, providing targeted and sustainable solutions for chronic and degenerative diseases. The findings emphasize the need for standardized methodologies and long-term safety protocols to fully realize the translational potential of regenerative medicine.
