Archiving Policy

1. Digital Archiving and Preservation:

  • All published articles will be archived in a secure, long-term digital repository to ensure availability and preservation for future access.
  • The journal will deposit all full-text articles and metadata in trusted digital archives such as PubMed Central, arXiv, or subject-specific repositories as applicable.

2. Open Access Accessibility:

  • Articles will be freely available to the public, ensuring that they are easily accessible through the journal’s website and partner repositories.
  • The journal will adhere to international open-access standards, ensuring content is freely accessible for the scientific community and the general public.

3. Institutional Repository Participation:

  • Authors will be encouraged to deposit copies of their articles in their institutional repositories, if available, to increase visibility and accessibility.
  • SIPJ will support authors in understanding and complying with open access and archiving mandates.

4. Metadata

  • Article metadata, including title, authors, abstract, keywords, and references, will be made available for indexing in major academic search engines and databases like Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science.

5. Long-Term Preservation and Access:

  • The journal will ensure that archived content remains accessible even if the journal website or publishing platform changes. This may include transferring content to global digital preservation initiatives (e.g., CLOCKSS, Portico).
  • The journal will work to comply with relevant archival standards, including data storage formats that ensure future accessibility.

6. Data Archiving for Supplementary Material:

  • Supplementary materials (e.g., datasets, figures, multimedia) associated with articles will be archived and made available in reputable data repositories, where applicable.
  • Authors will be encouraged to deposit research data in public repositories like Dryad or Figshare.

7. Versioning and Updates:

  • Authors are encouraged to notify the journal if they publish corrected versions of articles to ensure that archived versions are properly updated.
  • The journal will maintain a version control system to ensure that the most recent and corrected version of an article is always available.

8. Data Privacy and Security:

  • The journal will adhere to the data privacy and security regulations required by the relevant governing bodies (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) in its archiving and storage procedures.
  • Personal data of authors, reviewers, and other contributors will be stored and processed with confidentiality and in accordance with privacy laws.

9. Archiving Fees:

  • The journal will communicate any potential archiving fees for authors, if applicable, and provide transparent information regarding these costs during the submission process.

10. Compliance with International Standards:

  • SIPJ will follow the best practices set by academic and scholarly publishing organizations, including COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), to ensure responsible archiving.
